Once He Was Cast Out of Heaven, Who Did Satan Try to Deceive?

  • Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? - Genesis 3:1 KJV

After being thrown out of heaven Satan directed his attention toward the first human beings.

  • And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. - Genesis 3:6 KJV

The temptation of Adam and Eve had two components: external and internal.

The external element was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There was nothing bad in that tree; it was merely a test of love and faithfulness to God.

The internal element was much more complicated. It was a spiritual decision – a test of the moral fiber of our first parents. They had to choose between God and Lucifer, between love and selfishness, between divine sovereignty and civil revelliousness.
